Storytime is every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 AM. We read just as long as our audience is still listening…sometimes one book, sometimes three!
First Saturday Storytime
On the first Saturday of every month, Miss Lee will be reading some of the best storybooks around. Enjoy breakfast and a cup of coffee, along with some great books!
Yoga and Mindfulness Book Club
The Yoga and Mindfulness Book Club will NOT meet in June but will be back with two books for July! Join yoga teacher Jennifer Malloy for gentle standing and chair yoga, followed by a discussion of “Yoga and the Quest for the True Self” and “The Little Book of Mindfulness” on Wednesday, July 10, at 6:30 pm. No mats needed!

Mandala Blossom Cards Workshop
Zentangle® is a relaxing way to draw, no art skills or training are required. Join Suzanne McNeill, author of many Zentangle books, to learn the relaxing method of Zentangle. Draw graceful designs with elegant scrolls and patterns to create Mandala Circle designs on dimensional cards. Infinite designs radiate out from the dimensional opening to surprise and delight the viewer. We will add a colorful jewel in the center to enhance the design. Just sit back and enjoy the process of creating something extraordinary.

Pocket-Sized Leather Sketchbook/Journal Workshop
Join Suzanne McNeill on Thursday, June 6, from 5 to 8 pm to learn how to bind a genuine leather sketchbook or journal with an interesting closure. Prepare papers, pages and creative inserts. We will cut or tear paper for the pages in class. Make your very own 5×6” book (worth $65) with 64 – 72 pages.
Cost is $35 – includes a ‘kit’ with Leather cover, professional thread, needle, hand-made end papers, and closure.
Supplies to bring: Please bring paper for the pages. You will need 1 sheet of 140# paper – Fabriano or Fluid work best, CP or HP (please don’t bring Arches) – OR paper is available in the studio – One 22 x 30″ sheet for $4.00.
Storywalk with Author Dianna Aston at the BRIT
To celebrate National Public Gardens Week, the Botanical Research Institute of Texas is hosting award-winning children’s book author Dianna Hutts Aston, whose book “A Butterfly Is Quiet” inspired the new storywalk. Monkey and Dog Books will be there, and we hope to see you at this free family event!
